Society Aims

The OE Art Society has the following aims and objectives:

  • To encourage and support Etonian and OE artists (including all visual arts) in developing their ideas and careers
  • To promote the work and activities of members
  • To provide and encourage opportunities for members to meet, socialise, share ideas, and provide support to existing and future OE artists
  • To support the Eton Bursaries Fund, – particularly to support boys at Sixth Form level, with interest in the Arts, and to help them develop a career in the arts after Eton
  • To provide an opportunity for artists and art connoisseurs alike to enjoy art related events
  • To build on a shared  heritage and  experience from the Drawing Schools at Eton

To this end:

  • To show off the work and news of practising OE “artists” and other members
  • To organise shows and fund-raising auctions
  • To help promote Members’ exhibitions
  • To organise events at Eton where successful OE artists can present/discuss their work and career development, including successes and mistakes
  • To meet and enjoy each others’ company
  • To organise workshops, lectures, talks, discussions, visits  to private or restricted access collections
  • To seek sponsorship
