Free Webinar: Discoveries related to panel paintings made by the Jordaens Van Dyck Panel Paintings Project 2016–22

June 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free. Advance sign-up is required.

The multidisciplinary Jordaens Van Dyck Panel Paintings Project (www.jordaensvandyck.org) has examined 300 oil paintings on panel by the 17th Century Flemish artists Anthony van Dyck and Jacob Jordaens, including dendrochronology, recording and identifying panel maker’s and Guild marks, and new archival research. It is the most detailed research project to date on 17th Century panel paintings.

The talk by project co-founder Justin Davies will focus on the objects themselves, the project’s findings and their importance for art historians, conservators and others involved in cultural heritage preservation. The project’s results are being published in open access, on a website and through online journals. The talk will highlight how to consult these new and permanent resources on 17th century Flemish panel paintings.
