Rountree Tryon Galleries are specialist art dealers focusing on Sporting, Maritime, Wildlife and Topographical works from 18th Century to the present day. Formed by a merger between the Tryon Gallery and Rountree Fine Art, the company is inspired by British paintings that reflect history, culture, travel and sporting pursuits which were at the core of English taste from 18th Century. They not only supply traditional paintings of quality by noted artists in these fields, but also breathe new life into these genres with vivid new works by talented contemporary artists.

Established in 1959, a wonderful endorsement for the Tryon Gallery was written by HRH, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh for the company’s 50th anniversary in 2009:
‘For anyone interested in animals in art, The Tryon Gallery has become an essential port of call. For Fifty years it has been encouraging artists and attracting the attention of enthusiastic collectors. I am very pleased to have this opportunity to pay a tribute to what has become a national institution, and to wish it continued success in the future.’
This was followed in April 2018, when they were granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh as a Specialist Art Dealer.

As one of the few galleries in Europe that specialize primarily in Sporting and Maritime paintings, their position is cemented as market leaders their field. Rountree Tryon have two gallery spaces, one in the heart of the historical district of St James’s in London, and the second in the picturesque market town of Petworth, West Sussex.

They are members of BADA (The British Antique Dealers’ Association), SLAD (The Society of London Art Dealers), PAADA (Petworth Art & Antique Dealers Association) and supporters of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.
